Keepstone

Privacy policy

What Keepstone collects, what it doesn't, how our Google Analytics works, and the third parties involved when you click an affiliate link.

Keepstone is a static content site. We collect as little as possible: we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information. This policy explains what is collected when you read the site and what happens when you follow a link to a hosting company.

Analytics

Keepstone uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd., to understand which pages are read. It works from the page URL, the referring site, approximate location at city or country level, device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so this data is used only to improve the site — never for advertising — and it is not sold.

Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, that persist for up to two years, and only once analytics is allowed. Readers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked first by a banner; until they click Accept, nothing is sent to Google. Readers elsewhere have analytics switched on by default and can switch it off at any time. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal are treated as opted out. Your decision is held in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent, not in a cookie.

To change your analytics choice, follow that link and the banner reopens. Google's handling of the data is governed by Google's privacy policy, and Google offers an opt-out add-on that disables Google Analytics in your browser.

Separately, if you use the newsletter form, the email address you submit is used solely to send the updates you asked for, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

When you click an outbound link to a hosting company, that company (or its affiliate network) may set a cookie to credit us with the referral if you make a purchase. That process is governed by the destination company's own privacy policy, not ours, and any commission is paid by them at no extra cost to you. Our affiliate disclosure explains the arrangement in full.

Your choices

You can browse Keepstone without an account, switch analytics off, block cookies in your browser, and decline the newsletter. If you have submitted an email address and want it removed, contact [email protected] and we will delete it. This policy may be updated as the site changes; the version you are reading applies as of October 9, 2026.
